By God’s mercy, from January 24 to 26, we held a three-day retreat for widows with children who lost their husbands in the war in Ukraine.
The purpose of the ministry was to:
– Personally meet each of them and unite them with one another;
– Provide emotional and physical rest;
– And most importantly, share the Gospel and tell them about God, who gives hope.
Fourteen widows and twenty-five orphans participated. Three widowed sisters were invited as guests — they shared their personal stories of faith.
The program included evening talks, presentations on God’s love and the Gospel, and warm fellowship during free time. Separate Bible lessons and games were organized for the children.
The farewell gathering was a deeply moving moment — each woman had the opportunity to share her impressions, and many struggled to hold back tears. One little girl, seeing the living conditions, said to her mother, “Mom, are we in heaven?”
Before departure, every family received a food package. Many widows expressed their desire to meet again in the summer.
