Assistance was provided to widows to help prepare their children for the new school year. This project is always in high demand, because for many mothers, August is an especially difficult month: they must equip their children for school, but often do not have enough funds. In Tajikistan, for example, school uniforms are mandatory — children cannot come dressed in just anything. The project was successfully carried out in Belarus and Tajikistan.
Letters We Receive
As in previous years, your support in preparing children from low-income families for school was deeply felt this season! God performed many evident miracles through this good work. We heard many sincere words of gratitude from mothers and from the children themselves! There is no way to recount them all…
We pray that the Lord will fully reward everyone who contributed their hands and hearts to this project.

We would like to share one family’s story in more detail.
Nikolai and Valentina are both lathe operators by profession. They live simply in a small one-room apartment, but they have always been open-hearted and hospitable. The couple adopted a little boy from an extremely dysfunctional family. At just two years old, he was covered in burns, frightened, and wild. Yet, unafraid of difficulties, they raised him into a fine young man.
Six years ago, God sent them a daughter, little Eva, whose story was no easier. They took her in as an infant, nursed her back to health, raised her, and began preparing her for school.
Then tragedy struck: the father’s diabetes worsened, leading to gangrene. His leg had to be amputated…
Everything came crashing down at once: hospital stays, caring for a newly disabled husband, and looking after little Eva. They no longer had enough money for medicine, let alone for preparing Eva for first grade. Nikolai tried to comfort his wife: “Don’t worry — God will make a way…”
When we offered the family assistance, Valentina could hardly believe what she heard. Tears of relief rolled down her cheeks — a silent confirmation of God’s guidance.
“Thank the Lord for not forgetting us! For loving our little Eva so much…” the parents said with gratitude.
It is remarkable that Nikolai and Valentina are ordinary laypeople who do not attend church. Yet God Himself placed compassion for orphans in their hearts.
Understanding that our budget was limited, we prayed earnestly before launching this project, asking the Holy Spirit to lead us to the children who were truly in need. Praise be to God for His guidance!
We believe that the Lord will bless you, dear friends, for caring for children in need through this project in the name of Jesus Christ!
